TEXTURED VESSELS workshop for 16+

$155.00

Ancient pinching and coiling methods to sculpt one beautiful vessel.

Form a beautiful vessel under Connie's step-by-step guidance. You will roll and pinch coils into shape, a repetitive and meditative process that will result in a special object full of texture. Perhaps you'll make a vase for your favourite flowers, or a jug that could feature on your dinner party tablescape.

What's included:

+ Complimentary entry to Adelaide Ceramics Market

+ An 80 minute hand building workshop with expert tuition from Connie Augsoustinos, drawing on her experience as an intuitive maker of unique works imbued with patience and meaning.

+ Enough clay to create one beautiful vessel using traditional pinching and coiling methods. Please note that this workshop will focus on vessels similar in shape to a vase or jug, but we are unable to work on bowls or plates in this session.

+ Firing + glazing service after the workshop. Two of Connie's signature glazes will be available for you to select from at the time of the workshop.

About Connie:
Connie Augoustinos is a ceramic artist creating sculptural vessels and objects. With an intuitive making process, her work considers her cultural heritage, the history of craft, as well as the natural world. Her practise predominantly uses the coil hand-building and pinching techniques, playing with scale and surface. The slow process of hand-making is reflected in her work, each piece is unique, imbued with patience and meaning. Connie undertook a Bachelor of Visual Art, specialising in Ceramics at University of South Australia and then went on to complete the Associate Training Program at JamFactory, Adelaide in 2017. Connie has exhibited nationally and internationally and has had her works collected by the Art Gallery of South Australia, Shepparton Art Museum, Victoria as well as residing in many private collections.

Connie comes with a decade of teaching experience, most notably as a Short Course Tutor at Australia’s leading centre for craft + design, JamFactory.
